
High solids, powder, waterborne and UV curable coatings-the “green” coatings-have been developed to replace conventional high VOC and solvent-based coatings. Although the latest technology has overcome the disadvantages of traditional solvent-based coatings, light stabilizers in green coatings still play an important role helping to avoid degradation from sun light exposure and improve weathering stability. 木質素受到陽光照射下很容易劣化,要保留天然木器紋路和顏色的外觀,目前工業界常用的方式是在木器的表面塗上一層保護的清漆,這層保護作用的來源主要是添加紫外線吸收劑(UVA)和受阻胺光穩定劑(HALS)來達成,但是這種塗佈方式的保護效果比較有限,根據實驗結果顯示,如果在塗佈清漆之前,先將木器的表面做一種防止老化的處理,它就可以更有效的延長保護時間。
